Remembering Harmon Lewis of American Panel

Harmon Lewis, a longtime executive at American Panel, passed away on Sept. 1. He was 72 years old.

harmon lewisDuring the course of his 42-year career at American Panel, Lewis held a variety of leadership roles, including production manager, vice president of operations and executive vice president.

Lewis served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force, just as his father had. Working as an Air Force civil engineer, Lewis attained the rank of captain and oversaw engineering projects supporting aircraft such as the SR-71 Blackbird, the U.S. Space Program, the FB-111 Aardvark and the U-2 Dragon Lady.

Lewis is survived by his wife Linda Lewis; sons, David Lewis and Colonel Harmon Lewis, Jr., US Air Force Retired; daughter Leslie Tyson; brother, Rone Lewis; sister, Margaret Chambless, Wilmington, N.C. and six grandchildren.

A memorial service already took place. Donations in Lewis’ name can be made to the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home in Enterprise or First United Methodist Church in Ocala.
