In response to consumers’ appetite for better-for-you foods and the convenience of grab-and-go formats, Coolgreens plans to introduce what the restaurant chain calls smart fridges in 2020.
These units will serve Coolgreens’ signature salads, wraps and snacks at locations throughout the Ft. Worth, Texas, area.
Coolgreens will prepare these menu items fresh daily in an off-site local kitchen and deliver the food fresh to its smart fridges. To access the food, customers will simply swipe their credit cards, open the fridge, explore the available options and select their food.
Coolgreens will locate its smart fridge concept in office buildings, medical and corporate campuses, airports, rail stations, college and university campuses along with retail mixed-use developments. Any place where large amounts of people gather and are on-the-go will be a target for the new concept.
Earlier this year Coolgreens introduced a revamped menu, that includes grain bowls, sandwiches and flatbreads. As part of these menu changes, Coolgreens updated its equipment package.
