AJC to Honor Pecinka and Ferri

Longtime reps to receive the foodservice division’s Humanitarian Award

The Foodservice Division of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) will present Ed Pecinka and Joe Ferri of Pecinka Ferri Associates with its 2018 National Human Relations Award. Founded in 1972, Pecinka Ferri is an independent manufacturers’ rep firm that covers metropolitan New York.

Established in 1906, AJC works across nations, faiths and cultures to combat bigotry and strengthen mutual respect. The organization maintains 22 U.S. offices and 10 international posts, located in key diplomatic hubs.

Ferri has been in the foodservice equipment and supply industry since his youth. He’s been a partner at Pecinka Ferri for 20 years and serves as the company’s chief operating officer. A former president of the Manufacturers Agents Association for the Foodservice Industry, he was honored with its Tony Award earlier this year.

“Ed and I are proud to stand with AJC in its mission to advance human rights,” said Ferri. “Our roots run deep in our diverse community, and we applaud AJC’s leadership and advocacy of democratic values.”

Pecinka is a second-generation owner of Pecinka Ferri Associates, where he has served as president since 1993. He is past president of MAFSI Region 3 and represented his region and the foodservice industry as a six-year member of the MAFSI National Board of Directors. He has also been a member of the International Hotel/ Motel Show Committee and is a recipient of MAFSI’s Pacesetter Award.

“We are honored to be recognized by our industry,” said Pecinka, “not only for our accomplishments but for how much our personal and business values mirror those of AJC.”

AJC will present Pecinka and Ferri with their award during a June 13 reception.
