Curry Up Now, an Alameda, Calif.-based foodservice operation specializing in Indian street food, has acquired fast-casual concept Tava Kitchen, which focuses on South Asian flavors.
Curry Up Now’s portfolio includes five food trucks, five brick-and-mortar restaurants, plus two Mortar & Pestle bar operations attached to Curry Up Now restaurants in San Jose, Calif., and San Mateo, Calif. Tava Kitchen operates two restaurants in California and one in Colorado.
Tava Kitchen’s Alameda location will rebrand as Curry Up Now in early June with a completely open food assembly line. The location will serve as a test lab for new menu items, as well as a training site.
