Notorious Virus theme for National Food Safety month
The National Restaurant Association’s National Food Safety Month’s theme of “Notorious Virus” puts protecting against foodborne illness a front-and-center topic for the month of September.
The campaign outlines five weeks of topics, each focused on tips and tools to prevent the spread of foodborne illness through proper hand-washing and cleaning procedures.
Here is the week-by-week theme breakdown:
- Week 1: Viruses — Know The Basics
- Week 2: Norovirus
- Week 3: Hepatitis A
- Week 4: Stop The Spread
- Week 5: Keep Your Guests Safe
And you can cap off National Food Safety Month by signing up for FE&S’ Food Safety Webcast, which takes place at 1 p.m. (Central Daylight Savings Time) on September 27. The webcast will feature panelists Jay Lerdahl from the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Program, Mary Angela Miller from The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center and Cody Allen from Associated Food Equipment & Supplies.
