Members of Manufacturers Agents' Association for the Foodservice Industry (MAFSI) project 2015 foodservice equipment and supplies sales will increase 4.1 percent over this year's levels, according to the organization's 2015 Forecast Report.
For 2014, MAFSI members project foodservice equipment and supplies sales will increase 4.9 percent, which is 0.5 percent off the association's initial forecast for the year.
For 2015, 62 percent of reps expect to quote more work, with only 12 percent reporting less. Also in 2015, 43 percent expect an increase in consultant activity, while only 14 percent see less.
On a regional basis, MAFSI members project sales will increase 4.8 percent in the West, 4.6 percent in the Midwest, 4.1 percent in the Northeast, 4 percent in the South and 3.4 percent in Canada. Looking at specific product categories, the participating independent manufacturers' reps project supplies sales to increase 4.7 percent, tabletop items 4.3 percent, equipment 4.1 percent and furnishings 3.1 percent.
