Join venture is part of ongoing efforts to expand globally.
Halton Group continued its South American expansion efforts by entering into a joint manufacturing venture with Refrin company in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The ventilation manufacturer expects to begin shipping product from this facility by July and eventually plans to produce all of its Halton branded foodservice products in Brazil for distribution in the region. The company will also maintain its U.S. manufacturing operations, too.
"This step is conducive to our global efforts of being near our customers, and providing global expertise to local markets," said Georges Gaspar, global foodservice director for Halton. "We see that all global markets are in varying stages of development and transition, and by being involved and active, we can share experiences with various codes, and provide a conduit of global knowledge to those we work with."
To serve Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Panama and Peru, Halton started manufacturing in Mexico. And last year Halton established Halton do Brasil in order to support the development of its activities in Brazil.
