Restaurant industry pro to become president of the chain's international operations.

Dan Beem will become Krispy Kreme Doughnuts's senior vice president of the company and president – international later this month. He succeeds Jeff Welch, who left the company.

A 20-plus-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Beem most recently served as president of Cold Stone Creamery and Kahala Corp. International. Prior to joining Cold Stone in 2003, he held executive and management positions with Planet Hollywood, T.G.I. Fridays, Gordon Biersch Brewing Company and NASCAR.
