Restaurant industry veteran Shumsky announces retirement.

Dan Harris will become chief executive officer for CiCi's Pizza, effective August 12, 2013. He replaces Mike Shumsky, who is retiring.

Shumsky, who joined CiCi's in 2009 and has a restaurant industry career that spans more than 30 years, will continue to operate in a consulting capacity through October 2013.

Harris most recently served as chief operating officer for Primrose Schools, an Atlanta-based franchiser of educational child care centers. His background also includes serving as senior vice president for Arby's Restaurant Group. Harris also has been a franchise owner and operator for multiple Papa John's Pizza and Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants and served in franchise officer roles for Captain D's Seafood and Orion Foodsystems.
