Arby's joins the fight against childhood obesity, Mimi's Café looks to spark mid-day traffic in January and a handful of other chains open new locations.

The Arby's Foundation, the charitable arm of Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc., donated $3 million to the Georgia Food Bank Association's "Feeding for a Promising Future – No Kid Hungry" campaign, which strives to end childhood hunger in Georgia.

Bennigan's opened a franchised location in Jonesboro, Ark.

Burger 21, a fast-casual concept founded by the owners of The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., signed franchise agreements with 6 different entities in 6 states to develop a total of 11 restaurants as part of its aggressive growth strategy.

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop opened a location in Wilmington, N.C., its 88th restaurant system wide.

Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant opened a location in Del Ray Beach, Fla.

In an attempt to boost mid-day customer traffic, Mimi's Cafe has introduced an "All-You-Can-Eat" lunch special during the month of January that includes unlimited soup and salad plus a free Mimi's muffin for $6.99. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, guests can select one of Mimi's soups and their choice of a garden or Caesar salad. The deal ends on Jan. 31.

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, a self-serve, choose-your-own-toppings frozen dessert chain with more than 200 units nationwide, opened its first store in New York City.

Scheer Restaurant Group opened its 7th restaurant, Café 21, located on 25th Street in Fargo, N.D. Café 21 is an Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar, specializing in Vietnamese cuisine.
