European Company Prepares to buy Wilbur Curtis

Groupe SEB has reached an agreement to acquire Wilbur Curtis, a manufacturer of coffee equipment for the foodservice industry. The deal, which is subject to customary regulatory clearances, is expected to close in February 2019, per a release announcing the transaction.

Wilbur Curtis has $90 million in annual revenues, according to the release. Its client base includes coffee roasters, specialty coffee retailers, convenience stores, fast-food chains, hotels and restaurants.

This marks Groupe SEB’s second foray into the coffee market. In 2016 the company acquired WMF, a European company that also manufactures professional coffee equipment.

Group SEB is a European firm with a portfolio of companies that includes All-Clad, Krups, Moulinex, Rowenta, SUPOR, Tefal and WMF.
