FAT Brands Updates Leadership Roles

Multiconcept operator FAT Brands tapped Allison Lauenstein and David Pear to serve as brand presidents.

These moves came as a result of FAT Brands promoting Jenn Johnston to chief marketing officer. Since FAT Brands acquired Global Franchise Group in 2021, Johnston held the role of president of the company’s Quick-Service Division.

Lauenstein will serve as brand president of Great American Cookies, Marble Slab Creamery, and Pretzelmaker. She has more than a decade of experience working with these respective chains. Lauenstein previously served as executive vice president of brand operations and marketing at Global Franchise Group, which was acquired by FAT Brands. Prior to joining Global Franchise Group, Ms. Lauenstein spent 13 years at Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins Brands in various leadership positions.

Pear will assume the role of brand president at Round Table Pizza. He most recently served as vice president of strategic initiatives at Desert De Oro Foods, a multi-unit franchise organization with 360 restaurants, including Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Whataburger, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, and Dave’s Hot Chicken. Prior to that, Pear served as senior vice president of operations at Del Taco. Pear’s background also includes working with such restaurant companies as Yum! Brands’ Taco Bell and Domino’s Pizza.
