Middleby Drops Offer to Buy Welbilt

Welbilt may become an Ali Group company after all. That’s due to the fact that on July 13, 2021, Middleby announced that it will not increase its offer to acquire Welbilt. This comes roughly one week after Ali Group upped its all-cash offer to acquire Welbilt to $24 per share, giving the deal a $4.8 billion price tag.

AutoQuotes Gets New Owners

Private equity firm Luminate Capital Partners has sold AutoQuotes to TA Associates. As part of this deal, AutoQuotes will become part of Revalize, a cloud-based software platform for manufacturers.

Winholt Updates Sales Team

Winholt Equipment Group hired Erica Verderico to serve as West Coast regional sales manager and moved company veteran Bradley Williamson into a sales project manager role.

Remembering John “Jack” Sparacio

John “Jack” Sparacio passed away on June 21, 2021, in Carlsbad, Calif. The 78-year-old Sparacio had previously served as president of Lang Manufacturing, a Washington-based foodservice equipment manufacturer.
