Culinary Institute Honors Quartet of Culinary Pros

The Culinary Institute of America recognized the careers and contributions of four culinary professionals by presenting them the organization’s Augie Awards. Named for French Chef Auguste Escoffier in recognition of his unwavering pursuit of excellence, creativity, and professionalism, the Augie Awards honor members of the food and foodservice business who exemplify those traits.

The four recipients of the 2016 Augie Awards are:

  • Albert Kumin, pastry chef and educator
  • Sirio Maccioni, restaurateur
  • Mimi Sheraton, writer and food critic
  • André Soltner, master chef
