Casual dining chain adds talent in catering, construction and design and culinary.
Bennigan's Franchising Company added a trio of executives to its team: Mike Understein, vice president of catering operations; Mike Gabriel, director of construction and design; and Scott Foster, chef of record.
Understein will launch Bennigan's catering initiative, working closely with international and training operations teams. He comes to Bennigan's from Panera Bread where he owned, operated and launched restaurants. Understein's background also includes operations positions at Hard Rock Café and Applebee's.
Gabriel comes to Bennigan's from Fogo de Chao, where he served as development director. His background includes working Rare Hospitality and Ruby Tuesday's.
A 35-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Foster is a partner in five restaurants and he has held a variety of executive chef positions. His background includes working with Chicago-based Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and Redstone American Grill.
