Centerplate Buys Brew House, Updates Management

Centerplate adds another restaurant concept to its portfolio and announces a pair of updates to its management team.

Contract foodservice provider Centerplate acquired John Harvard's Brew House, a Boston-based restaurant group, and made two changes to its management team. Centerplate promoted Chris Verros to the newly created position of chief operating officer and named William Tracy a regional vice president, covering many of the company's coastal sports venue operations in Florida.

John Harvard's Brew House has six locations throughout the Northeast: Lake Grove, N.Y.; Providence, R.I., where it operates as the Union Station Brewery; Framingham, Mass.; at the Jiminy Peak Ski Resort in Hancock, Mass.; at the Holiday Valley Chris VerSki Resort in Ellicottville, N.Y; and the original restaurant in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Mass. John Harvard's Brew House features a menu of brewpub classics and other entrees.

Verros previously served as Centerplate's executive vice president of new business development. Prior to joining Centerplate he served as president of Boston Culinary Group's premium services division. Verros' other industry leadership experience includes serving as president of Fine Host's recreation and leisure services as well as the executive vice president of FanFare.

Based at Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays, Tracy will have responsibility for Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers; McKechnie Field, spring training home of Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates; the University of South Florida's Sun Dome; Joker Marchant Stadium, spring training home of Major League Baseball's Detroit Tigers; and the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Prior to assuming his role at Centerplate, Tracy oversaw hospitality operations and premium services at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, home of the NFL's Jets and Giants, and Shea Stadium, former home of the New York Mets; he also served as General Manager of food and beverage services at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. and PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.
