Multiconcept operator RAVE Restaurant Group made a series of updates to its management team. Notably, Bob Bafundo will step down from his role as president, a position he held since September of 2018, and Mike Burns will assume the role of chief operations officer for RAVE.

In addition, the company hired Justin Smith to serve as senior director of operations for its Pizza Inn chain and Aaron Archuleta as director of operations for its Pie Five chain.

Burns will lead operations for both Pizza Inn and Pie Five Pizza and Operations Services for all of the company’s restaurant concepts. Burns’ background includes operations roles at Pei Wei Asian Kitchens and Bojangles' Famous Chicken n Biscuits.

RAVE also tapped Douglas Kwong to serve as vice president of marketing for the company. Kwong comes to RAVE from Pei Wei Asian Kitchen where he served as director of ecommerce and digital marketing.

These changes come less than one month after RAVE named Brandon Solano its CEO.
