Subway Restaurants appointed chain restaurant industry veteran John Chidsey CEO effective November 18, 2019.

Chidsey comes to Subway from Burger King Holdings, where he served as chairman and CEO. Prior to that, he served as Burger King's president and chief financial officer and held other senior management positions.

Before joining Burger King, Chidsey served as chairman and CEO for two corporate divisions of Cendant Corporation. He led the Vehicle Services Division, which included Avis Rent A Car, Budget Rent A Car Systems, PHH and Wright Express, and the Financial Services Division that included Jackson Hewitt Tax Preparation Services and various membership and insurance companies.

He also has served international leadership roles with PepsiCo.
