In Memory of Charles Fadel

Charles "Chuck" Fadel, the retired chief executive officer of Fadels Food Service Equipment and Supplies, a Charlotte, N.C.-based dealer, passed away on May 18. He was 86 years old.

Fadel moved to Charlotte in 1946, where he, his mother and two brothers, Ted and Sam, owned Chuck's Lunch, Fadels Grill, Biltmore Dairy Bar and Three Brother's Tavern, until 1962, when they founded Fadels Inc.

Prior to his career in the foodservice industry, Fadel served in the Marines during World War II, stationed in Okinawa and Bougainville.

Fadel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alene Ward Fadel; son Shaheen "Shea" Fadel and his wife Sandra; daughter Amina Fadel Stewart, and her husband Eddie; daughter Jamie Fadel Raad, and her husband Tommy; six grandchildren and many other loving family members.
