Sales of foodservice equipment and supplies beat expectations during the fourth quarter of 2025, per the MAFSI Business Barometer.
Members of the Manufacturers Agents’ Association for the Foodservice Industry study reported sales increased 2.4% for the fourth quarter, which was up from 2.1% from the previous quarter and greater than the 1.7% growth rate reps had projected for the period.
Looking at sales by product category, tabletop led the way by increasing 4.0%, followed by supply items at 3.0%, equipment at 2.1% and furniture at 1.9%.
By region, the Northeast saw a 5.3% sales increase, followed by the West at 4.6%, South at 2.8%, Canada at 1.6%, and the Midwest at 0.8%.
For the first quarter of 2026, reps project sales will increase 3.5%. Reps also project a 4.3% sales increase for all of 2026. In support of future sales efforts, 35% of reps reported quoting activity increased in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to 39% that reported no change and 26% that reported a decrease in this area. Looking at consultant activity, 28% of reps reported an increase, while 19% reported a decline and 53% reported no change.
