John Boos & Co. appointed Patrick Smith to serve as vice president of foodservice sales. Smith succeeds Ted Gravenhorst, who will serve as a vice president, executive advisor through year-end before retiring, per a company release.
In his new role, Smith now leads the John Boos & Co. commercial foodservice vertical, which includes Boos Steel. He will oversee the company’s foodservice sales organization, working directly with Jennie Coon, the company’s director of sales, as well as its regional sales managers and the independent rep network. Smith will also lead the integrated customer success team that supports the business through project management and customer service.
Smith joined John Boos & Co. in September 2024 as director of business development. Prior to joining John Boos, he served as national sales manager at Accurex.
Gravenhorst spent nearly 40 years with John Boos & Company. His great-great-grandfather purchased the company in 1892 and Gravenhorst is one of five generations of family members who have contributed to the company’s growth and stewardship.
