Freddy’s Founder Redler Gets New Role

Fast-casual restaurant concept Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers tapped co-founder Scott Redler to fill the newly created role of chief experience officer.

In 2002, Redler co-founded Freddy’s alongside business partners, Bill and Randy Simon. With 45 years of industry experience, Redler spent the last 19 years serving as chief operation officer of Freddy's. The creation of this new role follows Freddy’s recent acquisition by private equity firm Thompson Street Capital Partners in March of 2021. Shortly after Thompson Street Capital Partners acquired the fast-casual chain, Freddy’s hired Chris Dull to serve as CEO.

Redler has been instrumental in developing more than 20 different concepts, per a company release. Redler also won a 2020 IFMA Silver Plate Award.

The creation of this role comes roughly one month after Freddy’s promoted Andrew Thengvall to chief development officer. For the last six years, Thengvall served as the fast-casual chain’s senior vice president of strategic growth and chief legal officer.
