Great Lakes West Acquires Kessenich’s

Great Lakes West, a Mattawan, Mich.-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealer has bought Kessenich’s Ltd., a Madison, Wis.-based dealer. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

All of the Kessenich employees are expected to remain with the company. Cheri Martin will serve as president of Kessenich’s, now an operating division of Great Lakes West.

“The company will continue to go to market as a full-service dealership,” said Marc Israel, a partner in Great Lakes West. “We were looking for a company with solid values, volume and good people. That’s Kessenich’s. Their people have solid expertise and are good people that want to do more.”

Great Lakes West falls under the same corporate umbrella as Great Lakes Hotel Supply Co. For 2016, Great Lakes Hotel Supply reported annual revenues of $54.8 million, making it the country’s 31st largest foodservice equipment and supplies dealer according to FE&S’ 2017 Distribution Giants Study.
