Former Chili’s executive Spillyards-Schaefer joins the causal-dining chain in a culinary role.
Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer was named executive chef and vice president, culinary and menu strategy for Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar. In her new role, Spillyards-Schaefer is charged with developing a menu of “modern, American cuisine that incorporates even more fresh ingredients,” according to a company release.
Spillyards-Schaefer’s background includes serving as a private chef, owning two restaurants and working as director of product development for Chili’s Grill and Bar. Most recently, she served as vice president of research and development and innovation for Bloomin’ Brands International, which includes Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse.
