Bojangles’ First-Ever Chief Development Officer has Diverse Background

Bojangles’ turned to Jose Costa to serve as the Southern restaurant chain’s chief development officer. In this new role Costa becomes responsible for increasing the company’s overall unit count and recruiting new franchisees. Other areas of responsibility include real estate strategy, equipment and new restaurant design and construction.

Most recently, Costa served as North America CEO for GrandVision. Prior to that, Costa served as group president of Driven Brands, leading the company’s MAACO, CARSTAR and Drive N Style brands, which collectively operate more than 1,400 body shops. He also was vice president of marketing, R&D and supply chain at Burger King’s Latin America and Caribbean Region.

Costa’s appointment is one of several senior level personnel moves made by Bojangles’ in recent months. The chain also hired Reese Stewart to serve as chief financial officer and Jackie Woodward as chief marketing officer.
