Sales of foodservice equipment and supplies will increase by 11.3% in 2022, per projections from the Manufacturers’ Agents Association for the Foodservice Industry.

Baltimore-based hospitality group Atlas Restaurant Group acquired two local restaurants on Dec. 20, The Valley Inn and The Oregon Grille. The additions bring Atlas’ total restaurant portfolio to 25 locations.

Multiconcept operator Bloomin’ Brands promoted Michael Healy to president of its Bonefish Grill concept, which has more than 180 units throughout the U.S.

Eugene Lee will retire from his post as CEO of Darden Restaurants, effective May 29, 2022. At that time company veteran Rick Cardenas will assume the CEO role for Darden.

Company veteran Christian Racine was named COO for Redberry Restaurants, a Canada-based franchisee of such chains as Burger King, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

The Boelter Companies tapped Mark Nachreiner to serve as chain and category director for the Wisconsin-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealer.

Cal-Mil added two people to its regional sales team. Kenny Bizosky and Christina Perrino assume responsibility for the manufacturer’s Northeast and Southeast territories, respectively.

After less than two years on the job, Marie Ffolkes is out as CEO for TriMark USA, a Mansfield, Mass.-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealer. Ffolkes and the company’s board of directors “mutually agreed that she will depart the company, effective immediately,” per an email announcing the transition.

Kevin King will rejoin Donatos as president of the pizza chain, effective January 4, 2022. Tom Krouse, who has held the dual role of president and CEO since 2010 will remain in the latter position.

The Society for Hospitality & Foodservice Management (SHFM) recognized the contributions of its members and vendor partners with a series of awards, including the 2021 President’s Award and the Robert Pacifico Award. SHFM also introduced new awards around the exhibits at its national conference.

North American Kitchen Solutions Inc., a factory-direct manufacturer of commercial kitchen ventilation systems, has acquired Lane Mechanical Inc., a commercial kitchen sheet metal fabricator. Lane Mechanical’s line includes commercial kitchen hoods, stainless-steel sinks, worktables, dish tables, expo lines and more.

Introducing EMC “A Hospitality Collective,” while Zink adds a refrigeration, ventilation and HVAC contractor and service company.

Multiline foodservice equipment manufacturer Ali Group has acquired The Montague Company, a commercial cooking and refrigeration company. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mac's Hospitality Group appointed Tony Salerno vice president of operations for the Charlotte, N.C.-based restaurant group.

Alto-Shaam added foodservice equipment veteran Scott Westbrook to serve as regional service manager for the Northeast United States.

The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers recognized the contributions of two longtime members to the organization as well as the foodservice industry with a pair of awards. Thomas R. Campion, CFSP, of Franke Foodservice Systems Americas received the 2021 Louise O’Sullivan Award of Excellence and Steven Follett, CFSP, of Follett, LLC, received the 2021 William W. Carpenter Award.
