Carlson Sells TGI Friday’s
In a deal expected to close by July 2014, Carlson has agreed to sell casual dining chain TGI Friday’s Restaurants to Sentinel Capital Partners and TriArtisan Capital Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Taco Bell to Promote Niccol to CEO
Taco Bell Corp., a division of Yum! Brands, will promote Brian Niccol to chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2015. Niccol, who currently serves as president of Taco Bell U.S., will replace Greg Creed, who will become CEO of Yum! Brands, Inc. effective the same date.

Remembering Michael Schatz
Michael Schatz, president of The Restaurant Source, a Denver, Colo.-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealership, passed away on May 16 following a heart attack. He was 45 years old.
