The Passing of Mike Carpenter

Mike Carpenter, a longtime member of the foodservice equipment and supplies industry, passed away on Saturday, April 23. He was 58 years old.

Carpenter was chief marketing officer for Cooper-Atkins Corp., a company he joined in 2009. Prior to that he worked with such foodservice manufacturers as Focus Brands, Amco Smallwares, Vollrath Co. and Hobart Corp. Carpenter also held various volunteer leadership positions for the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers, including serving as chair of The NAFEM Show in 1997 and as NAFEM president from 2002 to 2003.

Services are private and donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 4742 N. 24th St., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016-4862.

The family has asked that cards and notes be forwarded to Kandi or David Carpenter at NAFEM headquarters, 161 N. Clark St., Suite 2020, Chicago, IL 60601. NAFEM will distribute the cards and notes to the family.
