Bettcher Industries Transitions Ownership to Employees

Larry Bettcher retires after more than 50 years with the company.

Bettcher Industries, Inc. an Ohio-based foodservice equipment manufacturer, has transitioned to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) structure. In conjunction with this plan, Larry Bettcher, company chairman and chief executive officer, has retired.

While Larry Bettcher will no longer be active in the day-to-day operations of the business, he will now serve on the company's board of directors.

The transition was finalized through the sale of the remaining shares of company stock owned by the Bettcher family to the employees of the foodservice equipment manufacturer. Bettcher Industries had been a family-owned enterprise since the company was founded by Louis Bettcher in 1944.

Don Esch, who previously served as president and chief operating officer, now is president and chief executive officer of Bettcher Industries.
