Kane and Follett receive accolades during the organization's national conference.
The Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM) presented its Robert Pacifico Award to Barbara Kane, vice president of Industry Relations for Ecolab and its President's Award to Steve Follett, president and CEO of Follett Corporation.
SHFM recognized Kane because "like her award's namesake, Robert Pacifico, Barbara Kane always serves others first and makes the foodservice and hospitality industry better," according to a release from the organization.
In recognizing Follett, SHFM cited his support to the organization, including its president Mark Freeman, and the foodservice industry at-large. Follett participates in industry associations including NAFEM, SHFM, FCSI, and FEMA (Food Equipment Manufacturers Association). He has served in leadership positions for SHFM, NAFEM and FCSI, among others. Actively involved in the local community, Follett has served on both business and nonprofit boards. He serves on the Board of Asbury Carbons in Asbury, N.J. He is a member of the Board of New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem, Pa., and on the Advisory Board of the Children's Home of Easton.
SHFM also recognized a series of other foodservice professionals with its Directors Awards, which recognize those individuals that have gone "above and beyond" to serve the association and better the industry.
