Freddy’s Updates Franchise Support System 
Freddy’s, a restaurant chain specializing in burgers and frozen custard, announced a series of personnel moves to help support its franchise base.
UFood Restaurant Group Announces Management Changes 
George Naddaff has resigned his position as chairman and chief executive officer for UFood Restaurant Group Inc. Richard Golden, who served on the company’s board of directors for the past three years, is UFood’s new chairman and CEO. Charlie Cocotas, UFood’s chief operating officer since 2008, also announced his retirement.

Frank DiPasquale, chief executive officer for the School Nutrition Association, has left his post. Patricia Montague, the association’s chief operating officer, will serve as acting chief executive officer until the board of directors makes a decision on a new search process.
Ali Group Opens North American Training Center 
Ali Group North America opened its North American Training Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. The new building houses separate warewashing and cooking training facilities that foodservice equipment dealers and sales representatives can visit to receive onsite customized and classroom training.

For foodservice operators in the convenience store segment, college students represent an emerging opportunity to enhance their businesses. That’s because student c-store usage has grown across virtually all spending components and product dollars grew 15 percent over a year ago, according to the NPD report, Making the Grade: Student Consumer Impact on the Retail Fuels and Convenience Marketplace.
