ALI Group Buys Scotsman Industries 
ALI Group, a multi-line foodservice equipment manufacturer, has reached an agreement to acquire Scotsman Industries, a manufacturer of commercial ice machines under the Ice-O-Matic and Scotsman brand names, from private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Middleby Buys Broiler Maker 
The Middleby Corporation has acquired Nieco Corporation, a manufacturer of automatic broilers for the commercial foodservice industry. Nieco has annual revenues of approximately $20 million and is headquartered in Windsor, Calif., according to a Middleby release.
Restaurant Performance Index Declined in September 
The National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Performance Index declined to 100.4 in September, down 0.3 percent from August. Despite the decline, September represented the 11th consecutive month the RPI exceeded 100, indicating expansion in the index.
