FAT Brands Enters the Fast-Casual Mediterranean Market

Multiconcept operator FAT Brands Inc. has acquired Yalla Mediterranean, a Los Angeles-based restaurant chain specializing in Mediterranean cuisine and environmentally friendly operations.

Founded in 2014, Yalla Mediterranean has locations in Pleasant Hill, Fremont, Walnut Creek and Dublin in California’s Bay Area as well as Burbank, Seal Beach and Culver City in Southern California.

As a result of this deal, FAT Brands franchises more than 300 restaurants worldwide and has annual system-wide sales of more than $300 million, per a company release. FAT Brands’ other restaurant concepts include Fatburger, Buffalo’s Cafe, Buffalo’s Express, Hurricane Grill & Wings and Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses.
