Johnson to Become Welbilt President and CEO

Former Dover Corp. executive William Johnson will return to the foodservice equipment industry to become president and chief executive officer for Welbilt, effective Nov. 9, 2018. He replaces Josef Matosevic, who served as interim CEO of the multiline foodservice equipment manufacturer following the Aug 31 resignation of Hubertus Mühlhäuser.

Prior to joining Welbilt, Johnson was CEO of Chart Industries, a publicly traded manufacturer of equipment for the industrial gas, energy and biomedical industries.

From 2006 to 2016, Johnson held various senior level positions at Dover Corporation. In his most recent role at Dover, Johnson served as president and CEO of Dover Refrigeration and Food Equipment. Prior to that, he was president and CEO of Dover’s Hill Phoenix division, a designer and manufacturer of commercial refrigeration systems, and president and CEO of the company’s Triton Systems division, a designer and manufacturer of ATMs.

Johnson’s background also includes working with such publicly traded companies as Graham Corp. and ABB.
