Canadian-based MTY Food Group extends its U.S. restaurant portfolio.

MTY Food Group Inc. will soon acquire all equity interest of BF Acquisition Holdings LLC, namely Baja Fresh Mexican Grill and La Salsa Mexican Grill restaurants. The transaction, estimated at $27 million, should close in the next 30 days.

This marks the second recent MTY expansion into the U.S., following the company’s May acquistion of Kahala Brands Ltd., which added Cold Stone Creamery and Blimpie to the MTY porfolio.

BFAH’s head office will join MTY’s office in Scottsdale, Ariz.
