Former Outback Steakhouse executive Overholt assumes CEO role for fast-casual pizza concept. 

Venture capital fund Murfey Ventures has made an investment in 800 Degrees Pizza, a California-based fast-casual restaurant concept with locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and such international markets as Dubai and Tokyo. In addition to securing new investors, 800 Degrees Pizza announced several changes to its senior management team.

Steve Overholt will serve as chief executive officer and Scott Berkowitz will serve as chief development officer.

As a result of these changes, 800 Degrees plans to grow through area-development agreements, international licensing, and corporate development.

Overholt's restaurant industry background includes working with Paradise Restaurant Group and Outback Steakhouse. Berkowitz's background is in real estate and hotels franchising.
