AHF Presents Lifetime Achievement and Making A Difference Awards

The Association for Healthcare Foodservice presented its 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award to Julie Jones of The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. AHF also presented its 2016 Making A Difference Award to Maureen Leugers, MBA, RD of Gordon Food Service.

AHF's Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual for the many contributions the individual makes throughout their career in foodservice. Jones' background includes experience in foodservice operations and finance. Jones serves as director of nutrition services at The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. In this role, she is responsible for the food and nutrition services provided across the five-hospital system.

Jones chaired the AHF Benchmarking Task Force that led the redevelopment of the Benchmarking Express program. In 2015, Julie was awarded the Silver Plate for healthcare from the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association.

AHF recognized Leugers for her numerous contributions to the foodservice industry. Leugers serves as North American Director of Non-Commercial Success for Gordon Food Service. Her background includes serving as division director of both Environmental Services and Nutritional Services at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. Leugers is the author of the college level textbook, Controlling Costs in Foodservice.
