Smashburger veteran assumes executive post for emerging fast-casual Indian food concept.
Tava Indian Kitchen, an emerging fast-casual Indian restaurant chain, named Jeremy Morgan chief executive officer. Morgan formerly served as senior vice president of consumer insights for Smashburger.
Tava Indian Kitchen, which operates three location in the San Francisco Bay area, plans to build an additional 12 restaurants over the next 2 years, moving into new markets beginning in 2015.
At Tava, guests have the ability to create-their-own Indian cuisine experience. Guests start with a Roti wrap (known as a "Burroti"), Rice Bowl or Salad Bowl and select from their choice of all-natural chicken, grass-fed lamb, vegetarian or vegan proteins. Staff then top these with the chain's signature Tikka or Daal sauce, one of five chutneys and garnish with fresh veggies.
