Make it Better Foundation to address health and wellness, hunger and youth education in the communities the sandwich chain serves.
In an attempt that supports part of the company's slogan – Better bread. Better subs. Better day. – Cousins Subs has established The Make it Better Foundation, a charitable foundation to help support the communities the Wisconsin-based sandwich chain serves.
The Make it Better Foundation will focus its efforts on three main areas: health and wellness, hunger, and youth education. Interested nonprofit and community organizations can visit Cousinssubs.com/foundation to find out more information on eligibility and how to apply to receive support from the foundation. The Make it Better Foundation will review completed applications and announce grants on a quarterly basis.
"Cousins Subs has a longstanding tradition of commitment to the communities we serve and I'm pleased to announce that The Make It Better Foundation's good work has already begun," said Christine Specht, president and COO at Cousins Subs. "We awarded four $500 scholarships to Milwaukee Area Technical College students for their photography contributions used to create a foundation display for viewing in each Cousins Subs location. In addition, we are sponsoring the Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Competition, which honors outstanding high school student athletes. We will provide scholarship awards totaling $12,000 to qualified seniors."
