Torchy’s Tacos’ founder Mike Rypka has reclaimed the CEO reigns. 

Foodservice Equipment & Supplies named Flanagan-Cornell Unit 74 the winner of its 2022 Kitchen Storage Makeover contest. The facility offers breakfast and lunch service, in addition to preparing meals for the district’s special education school. Located in Flanagan, Ill., the school serves lunch to 225 students daily.

Foodservice Equipment & Supplies named Aba in Austin, Texas, the recipient of its 2022 Facility Design Project of the Year Award.

Weiss Instruments was acquired by Foundation Investment Partners. Based in Holtsville, N.Y., Weiss creates temperature and pressure instruments for commercial HVAC/R and OEM customers, including those in the foodservice industry.

Krowne Metal Corporation made a couple of changes to its sales team that will take effect on April 1, 2022.

The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers introduced its trio of new officers.

Steven Dunn was appointed vice president of sales for Imperial Range, a Middleby company. In this new role, Dunn assumes responsibility for leading all global sales activities for the Imperial brand.

Fans attending Pittsburgh Penguins hockey games at PPG Paints Arena can now purchase food and drink items from their phones and pickup their orders via food locker systems. Contract feeder Aramark rolled out the self-service concept in late February in PPG Paints Arena.

Julia Heckman was named a sales coordinator for T&S Brass, a South Carolina-based manufacturer of plumbing fixtures and related products for the foodservice industry. Heckman previously served in a customer service role for T&S.

Krowne Metal Corporation hired Ran Berger to serve as western regional sales manager for the manufacturer’s foodservice division, effective March 14.

Kevin Johnson will retire from his post as Starbucks president and CEO effective April 4, 2022. Former Starbucks CEO and founder Howard Schultz will serve as CEO until the Seattle-based coffee giant finds a replacement. Starbucks began working on a CEO succession plan in 2021 and anticipates having a new CEO in place by the fall of 2022, per a company release.

Mary Sauer was introduced as vision design coordinator for LTI, Inc., a manufacturer of modular and custom serving counters, fabrication and serving technologies.

Singer Equipment has acquired Kittredge Equipment Company, an Agawam, Mass.-based dealer that has been owned by the Webber family for more than 100 years. As a result of the deal, Kittredge is now part of a newly formed division within Singer and will go to market as Singer Kittredge.

Commercial cooking equipment manufacturer Vulcan promoted Meghan Hurst vice president of sales and marketing.

Domino's Pizza promoted Joe Jordan to president, U.S. and global services and Art D'Elia to executive vice president – international, effective May 1, 2022. Jordan and D’Elia will assume their new roles at the same time Russell Weiner takes over as Domino’s CEO.

P.F. Chang’s opened its second to go location in Jacksonville, Fla. This marks the 11th P.F. Chang’s To Go location systemwide.

Wingstop promoted Michael Skipworth to serve as chief executive officer from chief operating officer. He replaces Charlie Morrison who resigned to become CEO of Salad and Go. Morrison had been with Wingstop for 10 years.

Pentair, a provider of water treatment solutions for a variety of market segments including foodservice, will acquire Manitowoc Ice, a commercial ice maker manufacturer, for $1.6 billion. The deal likely allows Ali Group to take a significant step forward in completing its previously announced acquisition of Welbilt, which owns Manitowoc Ice.
