Taco Bell Enters Breakfast Daypart

FirstMeal rollout will move east later in the year.

Taco Bell is entering the breakfast daypart through its FirstMeal™ breakfast menu that consists of 11 items. Taco Bell is offering FirstMeal in roughly 750 restaurants in 10 Western states, including California, Arizona and Colorado.

Taco Bell locations in the Eastern part of the United States will start carrying FirstMeal in 2013. At the end of 2012 the company will start sampling FirstMeal items alongside fourth meal offerings during late-night hours. Before rolling it out, Taco Bell tested FirstMeal in more than 150 stores in four markets: Bakersfield, Calif., Oklahoma City, Tucson, Ariz. and Dayton, Ohio.

Most Taco Bell locations will open their doors an hour earlier, typically at 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. to accommodate breakfast, which will end at roughly 11 a.m.

The FirstMeal menu features an egg burrito with either bacon, sausage or steak; a Grande Skillet Burrito; a sausage and egg wrap developed with Johnsonville; hash browns; brewed and iced coffee from Seattle's Best; Cinnabon Delights; and orange juice. The menu also includes three combos.
