Miller to Become Denny's President

Family dining giant Denny's adds a 30-year veteran of the restaurant industry to its management team.

Denny's Corporation (NASDAQ: DENN), a full-service family restaurant chain, appointed John Miller to the position of president and chief executive officer, effective Feb. 1, 2011. Miller succeeds Debra Smithart-Oglesby who has filled the position on an interim basis since June 2010. Smithart-Oglesby will continue to serve as board chair for Denny's.

A 30-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Miller has served as president and CEO of Taco Bueno Restaurants since 2005. Prior to Taco Bueno, Miller spent 17 years at Brinker International where he held numerous management positions, such as president of Romano's Macaroni Grill and the company's Mexican concepts, including such high growth concepts as On the Border and Cozymel's.
